A romantic Appalachian opera under the stars will be performed at Berry College on Thursday.

The event is open to the public and attendants are encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic dinner.

The one-act opera was written by Kurt Weill and is based on Appalachian folk tunes.  The Berry Singers will perform under the direction of Harry Musselwhite, assistant professor of music at Berry.
